DUTCH ELM DISEASE LABORATORY Dr. Richard Campana of the Illinois State Natural History Survey Division, visited Evanston on April 8 to train the City's Water Chemist in techniques for identifying Dutch elm disease. Necessary laboratory equipment for these tests is being donated by Mr. I. D. Berg. The City will now be able to determine within three to seven days whether a tree is infected with Dutch elm disease, whereas about twenty-one days were required because specimens had to be sent to Champaign for analysis.
