Annual Conference

November 19-20-21

Board members and commissioners from throughout Illinois will be converging on St. Louis November 19-20-21 to brush up on their boardmanship. Along with them will be administrators, supervisors, leaders, specialists, therapeutic recreators and students attending educational sessions of their choice. It is the Annual Illinois Parks and Recreation Conference, sponsored by the Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Illinois Park and Recreation Society.

The conference will begin Thursday afternoon with informal tours and trips to points of interest throughout the St. Louis area. Friday and Saturday will feature 50 educational sessions.

The opening luncheon is tentatively set for Friday noon and the annual banquet for Saturday night.

The Illinois Park and Recreation Society will hold their Annual Meeting at 9:30 a.m. Friday with the Illinois Association of Park District's annual meeting set for 9:00 a.m. Sunday followed by the Legislative Seminar at 10:30.

The conference is scheduled to conclude at noon Sunday in time for delegates to attend the NFL Football game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles.

A wide variety of exhibits, both of the commercial and educational variety, will open at 8:30 a.m. Friday and remain open until 5:00 p.m. Saturday.

An outstanding program for wives is also being planned which will include tours and side trips, luncheons, shopping trips, etc.
