IPRF New Officers and Board The Illinois Park and Recreation Foundation elected officers and approved funds for two important statewide projects during its recent annual meeting in Chicago. Theodore M. Kavadas, Springfield, was elected President; Mrs. Spencer (Betty) Irons, Flossmoor, Vice President; Dan Malkovich, Benton, Secretary; Robert Pohl, Glenview, Treasurer; and Roger Bjorvick, Chicago, Legal Counsel. Board Members chosen were: Henry N. Barkhausen, Lake Forest; Gene Berghoff, Springfield; Herbert Stevens, Paxton; Kenneth Miller, Carbondale; Clark W. Brogan, Mattoon; Charles Pezoldt, Champaign; and Arthur Schultz, Chicago. The Foundation, a non-profit organization serving the interests of parks, recreation and conservation in Illinois, approved funds to assist in the formation of a park and recreation program in Cairo, and is providing a financial grant to the Illinois Park and Recreation Society for publication of a brochure to assist high school and college students interested in environmental education.
