Illinois Parks and Recreation 22 September/October, 1973 OUTDOOR EDUCATION WORKSHOP
The Outdoor "Environmental" Education Section for the State Conference has arranged a Saturday afternoon, November 17th, 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Workshop entitled "Environmental Approach To Outdoor Recreation Programs." Transportation will be provided to the four hour Workshop at Camp Reinberg, Palatine, Illinois, just a 15 minute bus ride from the Conference Headquarters. The Camp will provide all necessary staff to handle 100 Conference Workshop Registrants, to conduct discussion groups, provide program activities and ideas, interpretation of the natural setting. Creative conservation project ideas, working with arts and crafts that will bring about the further awareness of environmental education, plus many additional ideas to provide on site playground nature programs, day camp outlines, over night experiences plus resident camp exposure. Pre Workshop Information and Registration 1. Registration fee is $5.00 per person, payable in advance to I.P.R.S., 600 E. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016. 2. This is an "active" workshop, therefore, proper clothing for outside experience is necessary. MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP November 15
The Administrative Section of the Program Committee has planned a special workshop designed especially for administrators and mid-management personnel. Mitchell Novit from the School of Business of Indiana University will present the session entitled "Management By Objectives". Participants will learn how and why to use this popular new management technique. They will also investigate some of the new administrative problems and how to solve them.
The Management workshop will be held Thursday, November 15 from 1:30 p.m. to about 4:30 p.m. Cost for this special session is $10.00 per individual. Pre-registration with the IPRS office is necessary. Registrations will be limited, so send the form in early.
