JOSEPH B. DETLOFF has been appointed General Superintendent of the Midlothian Park District. He has served the Chicago Park District over 30 years in several capacities. He worked in the Recreation Department as Physical Education Instructor, Playground Supervisor and as a Park Supervisor of Recreation and in the Engineering Department as Buildings Operating Supervisor. He also worked in his early years as Athletic Coach and Director for the Chicago High Schools and is a graduate of Northwestern University and American College of Physical Education now merged with De Paul University.

EDWARD HAAG has been employed as Superintendent of Recreation for the Hoffman Estates Park District. His responsibilities will include supervision of all recreation and pool programs as well as special projects assigned by the director.
Ed is a 1974 graduate of Western Illinois University where he received a BS in Recreation and Park Administration. Prior to his appointment in Hoffman Estates he was Director for the Medina Park District.

KEITH RICH has recently been appointed Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Bloomington, Illinois. Mr. Rich has a B.S. degree from Central Missouri State University and M.S. degree in Recreation and Park Administration from the University of Illinois. Prior to joining the staff in Bloomington he held positions with the Topeka Recreation Commission, Topeka, Kansas and the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

TRUDY HERRON has been appointed by the Decatur Park District Recreation Department to the newly created position of Recreation Specialist.
Ms. Herron, a 1975 graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks and Recreation, did her internship with the Decatur Park District Recreation Department last summer.

PAUL V. SWANSON has been hired by the Elk Grove Park District as Superintendent of Recreation. Prior to his appointment, he was employed by the Zion Park District as Superintendent of Recreation.
Swanson received his M.S. degree in Recreation Administration from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana campus. He is a member of the National Recreation and Park Association, the Illinois Park and Recreation Society, and the North Shore Round Table. He is presently active on the Editorial and Publications Committee of the Illinois Park and Recreation Society.

DEBORAH MARIE CARRAWAY has been named Director of Foster Community Center for the City of Evanston. She heads a staff of four full-time recreation leaders and several part-time specialists.
Mrs. Carraway joined the Foster staff on a full-time basis October 1974 following her graduation from Lincoln University (Jefferson City, Mo.) where she received a B.S. degree majoring in education and recreation. During the summers of 1972 and 1973, Mrs. Carraway served as a recreation leader for the Evanston Recreation Department.

ROBERT K. "BERT" GRAY has recently been appointed Assistant Superintendent of Parks and Recreation for the Oswegoland Park District. Mr. Gray is a 1975 graduate of the Department of Leisure Studies, University of Illinois, and completed his final fieldwork as Acting Grounds Supervisor for the St. Charles Park District. Gray was introduced to the field through his work in scouting and through summer employment with the Oswegoland Park District where his duties ranged from swimming instruction to pool maintenance and programming.

CHARLES GOLT has been appointed Supervisor of Recreation for the Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District. Mr. Golt is a recent graduate of Illinois State with a degree in Parks and Recreation Administration. Part of his undergraduate studies consisted of four months field work in the Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District where he participated in the planning, implementation and actual leadership of various programs and activities. Charlie is a 1971 graduate of Rochelle Township High School and attended Kiswaukee College before enrolling at Illinois State University.

SHIREEN SEIF has been appointed Coordinator of Neighborhood Programs for the Urbana Park District. Ms. Seif is a 1976 graduate of the University of Illinois Department of Leisure Studies. She is a native of Urbana and

has done seasonal work with the Batavia, Arlington Heights and Rockford Park Districts. Her duties will include supervised playgrounds, sports camps, girls softball, lighted school and boys basketball. She replaces Ms. Roberta Tebussek, who has assumed the position of Coordinator of Community Programs for the District.
