_______________________________________________ MS. KATHLEEN GARTLAND, a recent graduate from the University of Illinois Department of Leisure Studies, has been appointed program supervisor for the Villa Park Recreation Department. Prior to coming to Villa Park, Ms. Gartland was a member of the University of Illinois women's volleyball team and recipient of many athletic awards and scholarships. Her experience includes serving as a student intern to the Oak Park Recreation Department, University of Illinois Athletic Association and Park Ridge Park District. She has also worked as a youth coordinator for the First Presbyterian Church in Champaign. Ms. Gartland assumed her duties with the Recreation Department on August 23, where she will have responsibility for planning and supervising the Department's athletic programs. _______________________________________________ The University of Illinois' Department of Urban and Regional Planning has awarded TOM BRIMBERRY an assistantship to Dr. Carl V. Patton and the Bureau of Urban and Regional Planning Research, University of Illinois. Tom, previously from the Division of Planning, Design, and Construction at the Pleasure Driveway and Park District of Peoria, will assist with an Illinois Public Works Grant Program and other research. _______________________________________________
_______________________________________________ PAT PETTIT has recently been appointed a Campus Recreation Director at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. Pettit received a Bachelor Degree in Recreation from Eastern Illinois University and is pursuing a graduate degree in recreation at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. His previous recreation experiences include positions with Hickory Hills Park District and Galesburg Recreation Department. _______________________________________________ LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT WANTED: Plan, design and coordinate construction of preserve improvements.
