Thursday, November 25
First day that notice of intention to file a petition to create a political subdivision, whose officers will be elected at the same election, may be published in a newspaper within the proposed political subdivision, or if none, in a newspaper of general circulation within the proposed territory.

Friday, December 24
Last day for filing a petition to create a political subdivision with the appropriate Circuit Court.

Saturday, December 25
Last day notice of intention to create a political subdivision may be published.

Last day to file objections with the Circuit Court to petition to create a political subdivision.

Monday, January 3
First day for an absent elector who is a member of the United States Service or residing outside the territorial limits of the United States to make application for official ballot.

First day for filing petitions as nonpartisan candidate for park board. Petition to be filed with the Secretary of the District.

Last day for filing of petition for referenda and petitions for the submission of advisory questions of public policy to petition for referenda under Article VII or paragraph (a) of Section 5 of the Transition Schedule of the 1970 Constitution.

Last day to file objections to referenda described above.

Last day for filing objections to nomination papers.

Sunday, February 6
Last day for local governing boards to adopt a resolution or ordinance which initiates the submission of a public question (65 days before election). (CH. 46, Art. 28-2)

Tuesday, February 8
Last day for written notice of the time and place for conducting lottery (to occur when two or more petitions are received simultaneously for the same office) shall be given by local election to each organization of citizens entitled to have poll-watchers present.

NOTE: For political subdivisions which are multi-county, the election authority of the county where the principle office of the political subdivision is located shall make the certification of election.
