Association News and Announcements From IAPD . . . MID-YEAR FORUM As IPRA members wind down (or recover!) from another outstanding state conference, they can start looking forward to a superb Mid-Year Forum. This year's Forum takes place April 8, 9 and 10 at beautiful Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois. Educational sessions offering CEUs will be interspersed with social events which will take advantage of Pheasant Run's many facilities, plus the natural outdoor attractions of the Fox Valley. Several local park and recreation agencies are cooperating with the Forum Committee to produce a great program which, for the first time, includes a spouse's package. Following the format adopted two years ago, the Forum once again features half day, whole day and two-day in-depth seminars. Mark your calendar now for April 8, 9 and 10. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SCHOOL There is no doubt that the 2nd annual Professional Development School will be as successful as last year's. This year's program zeroes in on the Dynamics of Decision making and will be held at Starved Rock Lodge in Utica on January 23, 24 and 25. The school promises to increase your skill in dealing with business options which constantly confront administrators and department heads. An experimental approach, rather than a classroom/lecture format, will enable participants to be directly involved in the step-by-step process required in finely honed decision making. Excellent program facilitators have been enlisted from the business management field. These facilitators will be on hand throughout the 2 1/2 days of the school to transfer their organizational skills to you. The $225 fee includes meals, room and educational material. For more information, contact Bob Lashbrook at (312)837-2468.
