The final issue of IPR for this year focuses on several important subjects that will impact the park and recreation profession in 1985.

Dr. David Kenney, director of the State Department of Conservation, outlines plans for upgrading park and recreation areas throughout Illinois. His guest article begins on page 12.

The Legislative Scene section discusses major bills of special interest that were signed into law by Governor Thompson this summer. In addition, a crucial opinion from Attorney General Neil Hartigan is explained.

This issue also highlights cooperative program efforts with the private sector. Two articles explore the benefits of these joint ventures.

Other articles — measuring community attitudes, providing alternative education possibilities, designing recreational programs for disabled students, expanding sports tournaments — also provide information which can help you improve both the delivery and quality of your programs and services.
