WORKSHOPS-
CLINICS AND INSTITUTES July Municipal Workshop Series Grows An eighth workshop, to be held at Kaskaskia College near Centralia, has been added to the July series being conducted by the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs for municipal officials and their key administrative staff. DCCA, with the cooperation of Illinois community colleges and Governor's State University, is offering the agenda first presented to municipalities in six workshops during February and March of this year. This offering extends to all small municipalities an opportunity to attend a workshop close to home. Subjects vital to the successful operation of municipal government will be presented by DCCA staff. They include federal and state grants and loans, infrastructure project financing options, local revenue sources and state requirements regarding such subjects as the appropriation ordinance, filing procedures, the tax levy and Truth-in-Taxation provisions. Other presentations will include how a community may inventory its infrastructure needs, plan its future infrastructure improvements, review its water rate structure and become a Certified City. Print information will be given to attendees on program topics, and DCCA staff will be available to answer your questions. No advanced registration is required, and there is no fee for attending. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., the program at 9:00 a.m., and the event is finished by 3:00 p.m. The workshop dates, locations and contacts are as follows.
