1985 conference sets new attendance mark
Approximately 3,000 delegates, exhibitors, guests and speakers attended last year's Illinois Park and Recreation Conference. They had access to a large array of educational sessions, expert advice and new products.
Ninety-two educational sessions focused on topics ranging from wheel-chair sports to golf course maintenance, solar energy, financing trends, investment options and effective writing. Nine pre-conference workshops provided other opportunities to learn about motivational management,
capital development projects, intergenerational programming, skills for dealing with people, supervisory roles, therapeutic recreation, golf, the one-minute manager, and communication between elected officials and staff.
State Rep. Terry Steczo (D-78) shared his views about the legislative process.
