City of Countryside Police Dept.

Countryside, located 13 miles southwest of Chicago, was incorporated in 1960. The first City Hall conducted their business out of a storefront until the original building was built in 1967. Although it was built to allow for a second story, the need for an addition was not anticipated until the year of 2000.

The addition houses the Police, Building, Water Departments, Treasurer's Office and meeting rooms. The entire project of renovation and addition to the existing building cost three-quarters of a million dollars.

Countryside does not levy a corporate tax, but operates from its share of sales tax. •
