We are welcoming spring this year with a special golf issue.

The articles examine the sport's long-term trends, unique facilities and maintenance operations, and new and recycled equipment. A special winter golf tournament and the important role which senior citizens play in course operations are also featured.

In addition, Bob Porter continues to do an excellent report on park district finances. This issue examines the annual statement of receipts and disbursements.

Stories are also presented on one recreation agency's musical message and the input which the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) gave to Governor Jim Thompson's special Revenue Review Commission.
