First Vice-President Lewis Receives Mayor Rolland W. Lewis of Mt. Vernon, Illinois has been appointed to the newly formed Federal Environmental Financial Advisory Board (EFAB). The EFAB is an adjunct to the National Advisory Council For Environmental Technology Transfer (NACETT), an EPA Advisory Committee established in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) 5 U.S.C. (App I) 9(c) to implement The Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986. Mayor Lewis will be the only Illinoisan serving on the EFAB and one of two Mayors, the other being the Mayor of Indianapolis, Indiana. The first formal meeting will be held in Washington, D.C. on October 24,1989, to begin the process of carrying out various purposes and goals to assist in the public-private area of meeting environmental issues. Mayor Lewis has been serving on an Ad Hoc Federal Panel in Washington, D.C. on public-private financing on EPA projects for the past year.
