The question is often asked: "Why
should an agency set aside money to
send staff and board members to conferences and workshops?" Here are a
few reasons. . . .
• Because parks, recreation and
leisure services are constantly
changing just like today's society. There are new innovations,
trends and issues that arise on a
weekly basis. As times change,
new challenges face us. Only if we
are willing to accept the challenges and learn about them can
any of us really make progress.
• Because each local agency deserves the best leadership possible. Training, networking and
information exchange is one way to assure that you will have the
best management possible.
• Because at the Illinois Park and
Recreation Conference you will
have an opportunity to hear
from experts in the fields of
business, marketing, parks, recreation and leisure services. You
will have a choice of workshops
dealing with topics that will enable you to return to your local
agencies and put programs into
action. You will have the opportunity to meet other board members and staff from all parks of
Illinois who share a common goal
of providing the best, most cost
effective recreation and park services to the residents of Illinois.
What to take to the annual
conference:
