BUFFALO GROVE POST OFFICE
The Village of Buffalo Grove, 111., has selected McLennan and Thebault Inc. (MTI) as the design/build general contractor for a 25,000 sq. ft. post office for the United States Postal Service, announced John Theault, president of the firm.
The single-story building, to be located at the northeast corner of Buffalo Grove and Checker roads within the Town Center development, will feature a design that complements the facades of the Town Center retail center and the Town Place condominiums. Situated on a 5.3-acre site, the masonry structure will feature a sloped, green metal roof and an arched tower at the front entrance.
"As the Village of Buffalo Grove continues to grow, so does the need for a post office to serve its residents," said William Balling, Buffalo Grove Village Manager, who noted that Buffalo Grove residents and businesses are currently served by the post office of nearby Wheeling.
Groundbreaking for the post office is scheduled for spring 1991. Occupancy is slated for autumn 1991. •
