Former Park District of Forest Park attorney
Joseph P. McGah, 68, dies at home
Joseph P. McGah, 68, a lawyer and former state representative from the west suburban 5th District, died Monday, Nov. 19, 1990, in Loyola University's McGaw Hospital in Maywood.

McGah, a democrat, served in the Illinois House from 1964 to 1974. He was in public office as an elected or appointed official for almost 40 years.

After leaving the legislature, he was the legal adviser to House Speaker William Redmond for six years.

He was the attorney for the Park District of Forest Park.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Barbara VanVlierbergen and Mary, a Hillside lawyer; two sons, Joseph Jr., also a Hillside lawyer, and James.

Grayslake Community Park District
Commissioner Walter Stock, 79, passes away

Walter Stock, 79, died Oct. 4,1990, in his home. He had been a Grayslake Community Park District commissioner since 1987.

During his tenure as Grayslake Park District commissioner, he served as chairman of the Maintenance and Safety Commission for two years and served terms on the recreation and finance committees. He was a volunteer chaperone on most of the park district sponsored field trips.

"He had a great love for all children," said Park District Board President Louise Wickersheim.

Grayslake Park District Director John Wilson said, "We had many conversations on the various Chicagoland sports teams. He will be missed around here. He was a good board member."

Stock will not be replaced on the board until the 1991 election. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne, in 1974.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Kellogg of Westminster, Calif.; a son, William of Grayslake; and a brother, Frank of Ingleside, Ill.

"He left his mark," said Wickersheim, "and that mark will not be forgotten."

McCook Park District Trustee Peter J.
Yuretich, 46, dies in car accident

Peter J. Yuretich, 46, a trustee for the McCook Park District since 1985, and a member of the Illinois Association of Park Districts, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 1990, in Fairbury, Ill., of injuries from a car accident.

He was on a hunting trip in Livingston County in central Illinois when the accident occurred.

He had been chief of the McCook Fire Department since 1980, and had been with the department for 25 years. He was deputy chief for five years before his promotion to chief in the West Cook County suburb.

Besides being a member of IAPD, he was a member of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte; his mother, Julia; a sister, Amelia Nisbet; and a brother, Anthony, a McCook police officer.
