MTI COMPLETES THIRD MUNICIPAL PROJECT McLennan & Thebault Inc. (MTI) has completed a two-story addition and renovations to the Buffalo Grove Village Hall building, announced J. Andrew Jones, vice president at MTI. The 26-year-old facility, located at 50 Raupp Blvd. in the northwest suburb of Chicago, and seven additional village owned buildings, underwent renovations to comply with American Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Ramps, hand rails and restrooms were updated for handicapped accessibility. The two-story, 7,000 sq. ft. addition with an elevator was constructed to accommodate new council chambers and meeting rooms. The building now contains a total of 21,500 square feet. Architect for the project was Systems Design Group (SDG), Schaumburg, Ill. The Village Hall project was the third municipal job Elk Grove Village, Ill-based MlT has completed for the Village of Buffalo Grove. In 1990, the firm constructed an 11,248 sq. ft. fire station at the northwest corner of Route 22 and Easton Avenue. A 25,000 sq. ft. United States Post Office facility, located at the northeast corner of Buffalo Grove and Checker roads within the Town Center development, was built in 1991. • Page 20 / Illinois Municipal Review / April 1994 |
