Congratulations to Connie Monroe, Manager of
Accounting for the Illinois Municipal League, on the
occasion of her 30th anniversary with the League. Connie began her tenure with the League on February 16,
1966, when the League was headquartered at 1220 S.
7th Street in Springfield. The Municipal League had
seven employees at the time — Lon Sargent was Executive Director and Senator Stanley B. Weaver, former
Mayor of Urbana, and now Assistant Majority Leader
in the Senate, was League President. At the time, Connie served as secretary to Steve Sargent. Her career
with the League spans four executive directors — A. L.
(Lon) Sargent, Steven O. Sargent, Thomas G. Fitzsimmons and Kenneth A. Alderson. Best wishes for 30 more
years. •
