As Governor of the State of Illinois, I am pleased to welcome everyone gathered in Chicago for the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) and Illinois Park and Recreation Association's (IPRA) Annual State Conference.

Both the IAPD and the IPRA are essential voices in the development of Illinois' natural and recreational facilities, recognizing that a beautiful Illinois has benefits not only for the environment but also for the leisure of its residents and the attraction of the state to businesses that might wish to locate here. As members of these two organizations, you all contribute to Illinois being a great place to live and work. I am confident that the contacts you make and techniques you learn at this convention will allow you to continue to improve the great quality of life in our state.
