Conference 2005
Passing the Gavel and Honoring the Best
Conference is about camaraderie and attending sessions that give you the extra edge to do your job better. But for your associations, the IAPD/IPRA Annual Conference also marks a change in leadership.
For IAPD, January 27-29 marked the end of Clint Hull's term as the 2004 Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Hull, of the St. Charles Park District, turned the reigns over to Lake Country Forest Preserve Commissioner Pam Newton, who will lead IAPD for 2005. The IPRA held a similar changing of the guard at its annual business meeting on January 28. Jim Reuter of the South Elgin Parks and Recreation Department assumed the chairmanship of the 2005 IPRA Board of Directors. He succeeds the 2004 Chairman, Jane Hodgkinson of the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association.
Conference is also the time when the associations announce their highest honors at the annual awards luncheon. The 2004 award winners are as follows.
