A Note From The Editor This edition of Illinois Parks & Recreation magazine is full of interesting articles on different types of facilities across the State. Paul Klicker wrote an interesting piece on recreation education in universities, and internships on page 7, "Park District" Is Not A Four -Letter Word. On page 9, Carol Sente talks about the exciting new 27-hole golf course being built in Schaumburg. It sounds like the clubhouse and banquet facilities will be magnificant when completed. Another golf-related article starts on page 15. Tom Richardson and Robert Markionni wrote about the benefits of belonging to the Chicago District Golf Association. Following that are a couple of money-related articles, Enterprise Funds, by Terry G. Schwartz on page 17, and Money Talks by Kris Mikkelsen on page 19, and how to get the most out of it. Another cost-saving outline is explained on page 26 in an article. Let The Utility Companies Pay For Retrofits, by Judith Zopp. Ginny Wiemerslage wrote about the benefits of districts offering child care for its employees on page 28, followed by an eye-opening article by Jill Bartholomew on page 29. Rebecca Brennan explains how districts can achieve maximum fun and funds from organizing tennis leagues on page 31. On page 32, Jean Morgan Bacon talks about Addison Park District's "Crowning Jewel." Until next time, happy reading.
