ON THE COVER

Nancy Hubbard, planning assistant at the Oswegoland Park District took this photo of the Stonegate Dam Beautification Project on the Waubansie Creek. After a deluge took down the Lower Stonegate Dam in July 1996, the district worked with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to restore and maintain this area as a spawning habitat for fish that move in from the Fox River. The project involved creating the gravel riffles shown here.
