To our readers:
This issue of Illinois Heritage is devoted to Illinois' centennial businesses and not-for-profit corporations, which in 2007 will celebrate 100 years or more of continuous service in the prairie state. We congratulate this year's Centennial Award winners and offer our sincere gratitude to the many generous sponsors and donors who make the Centennial Awards program possible, with special thanks to the Illinois Chamber of Commerce for its continued partnership.
The Centennial Awards Reception will be held on Saturday afternoon, October 6, 2007, at the Executive Mansion in Springfield. This year marks the first time in more than a decade that the event will be held downstate. We hope this new venue is a welcome change, and we encourage Society members and past award recipients to come to Springfield and help us celebrate with the 2007 winners.
Please make your reservations early. A block of rooms at the Mansion View Motel (217-544-7411) is reserved through September 21 for our out-of-town guests. We look forward to seeing you at the Mansion.
Very best wishes,
William Furry Executive Director
