Two young girls learn about nature found in their own backyards at
the Schaumburg Park Districts "Backyards for Nature Fair," a family
event held at Spring Valley Nature Center each year near Earth Day.
The photo was taken by David Brooks, manager of conservation
services for the district, who says 1,000 people attend to "reconnect
with the natural world." The event is co-sponsored by the park district,
the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the local garden club and the
Audubon Society.
