Vicky Glade
was hired as community service manager at Lombard Park District. She graduated from Illinois State University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in Public Relations. Formerly; Glade was the special events/ volunteer coordinator for a nonprofit vocational rehabilitation agency. She is now responsible for producing the seasonal recreation program brochures arid all other marketing and publicity efforts for the district.

Paul Friedrichs
was hired at Lombard Park District as the superintendent of finance. Friedrichs comes to this position with lO years experience in the field. Formerly, he was the business manager for the Park District of Oak Park. Friedriechs graduated from the University of Iowa in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in Finance and Business Administration. After graduation, he spent seven years with the Arlington Heights Park District as accounting supervisor.

Richard L. Grant was hire as director of Carbondale Park District In this position, Grant will have responsibility for the overall management and direction of parks, recreation programs, leisure services and facilities provided and operated by the district. He leaves the position of director of parks and recreation for the city of Appleton, Wis., which he has held since 1981. That department serves a population of approximately 70,000 residents, cares for more than 500 acres of park land, operates an 18-hole public golf course, manages two outdoor and two indoor public swimming pools, monitors a hiking-biking trail, and maintains the street trees within the community. Previously, Grant served as director of Parks and Forestry in Appleton, 1979-1981; superintendent for the city of Independence, Mo., 1977-1979; and parks superintendent for the city of Albion, Mich., 1972-1977. Grant holds a bachelor's degree in Forestry from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is a member of the National Recreation and Park Association, the Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association and the Wisconsin Arborists Association.

Kent D. Newton was hired as superintendent of finance for the Morton Grove Park District, responsible for organizing and maintaining the district's financial systems, annual budget and appropriation, levy; general finance and accounting for the district. Newton will also be in charge of the district's computer technology and supervising the staff in the Finance Department. He has a bachelor of science in Accounting from Purdue University and has attended the National Recreation and Park Association Business Institute. Since 1995 he has been the finance coordinator for the Park Ridge Recreation and Park District.

A. J. Collier II was hired as assistant manager of the Schaumburg Park Districts' Tennis Plus. His duties include day-to-day operation of the facility's eight indoor tennis courts, six racquetball courts, two squash courts and fitness center. Collier has a degree in Exercise Physiology from Northern University and previously worked as an exercise physiologist at local hospital cardiac rehabilitation units. For the past year he has worked for the district as a fitness consultant.

Tracey Crawford
has been named superintendent of recreation at the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA). Crawford served at NSSRA since 1996 as the manager of inclusion. She is a graduate of Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Iowa. In her new role, she will oversee all recreation program development for people with disabilities who live in the NSSRA partner communities. She will also manage recreation inclusion training programs conducted by NSSRA.

Jennifer Rebhan
has been named manager of inclusion at the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA). Rebhan, a graduate in therapeutic recreation from Eastern Illinois University, has been at NSSRA since 1994 as a recreation specialist and most recently as senior recreation specialist. In her new role, Rebhan will consult with the staff at NSSRA partner park districts and cities on inclusion placements. She will recruit, select, train, and oversee the work of inclusion companions and sign language interpreters. She will also assist with recreation inclusion training programs conducted by NSSRA.

Macy Welsh
has been named manager of programs at the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA). Welsh, a graduate in therapeutic recreation from the University of South Dakota, has been at NSSRA since 1997 as a recreation specialist. In her new role, Welsh will oversee the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of seasonal employees who work in traditional NSSRA programs, such as Special Olympics. She will also oversee the Joint Summer Program with the special education cooperative in the NSSRA community.
